Stories
"I came one year ago from Mosul, Iraq. I am now 30 years old and I want to finish my study because I was in Artistic college but just for 2 years and I didn't finish because I left my country because the 'war'. Now I want to study and I thinking about interior design college. Thank you.
I came here with my husband and my kids because my husband's work move from Dubai to London. I like to live in peace and safe place with my family. And I want and wish all people to be good and respect each other. I want to be perfect in English language. I like to cook and walk and live a healthy life. I like my husband and my kids too much. I hate the 'war' because I lived (there) with my family before and it was terrible time". Asmaa's Story

Everyone in the group are in the process of learning English and attend The English Speaking Club at Church Street Library. What they have written is in their own words.
Noura added these Proverbs to her suitcase
We are not given a good life or a bad life, we are given a life. It’s up to us to make it good or a bad life
Cannot be kept by force it can only be achieved by understanding. Peace begins with a smile – Mother Theresa When I was 5 years only, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life |
When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I wrote down “happy”. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life – John Lennon
We are all humans why can’t we live in peace?
